Carter Bundy serves as Constituent Relations Representative for Michigan’s Department of Attorney General. In his role, the MSU grad works to create a strong public presence for the Department by criss-crossing Southeast Michigan to meet and speak with constituents, elected officials and groups like Kiwanis, Rotary, and Chamber of Commerce. His goal is to inform and educate them on Department of Attorney General consumer protection programs like the OK2SAY School Safety program, the Cyber Safety Initiative, and the Senior Brigade program.
“Metro Detroit is an emerging market with lots of opportunity and fresh ideas that make pursuing a first career here very desirable,” Bundy said. “I joined DYP to expand my professional network and to meet other young leaders who care equally about the spirit and revival of Detroit as much as I do. DYP has allowed me to make many new relationships across the entire greater Detroit region which have helped me succeed both personally and professionally.”
Bundy also worked as Regional Field Director for Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign and is a former legislative intern for the Michigan Senate. He enjoys golfing, grilling, exploring Detroit, and being a good uncle to his 3-year-old nephew, Sawyer Thomas. He plans to go sky diving in Sarasota, Florida, at the end of July and run the Crim 10 Mile race in Flint this August. Connect with Carter on LinkedIn here.
Speaking of races, Andrea Wilamowski just completed her first triathlon, the Motor City Triathlon on Belle Isle, in June. For her, it was the end of a tremendous year-long journey that has seen her lose 80 pounds and become a national fitness celebrity.
Wilamowski was a contestant on Season 16 of the TV reality show The Biggest Loser, which she calls "one of THE single best things that has ever happened in my life." She now travels as a motivational speaker and fitness advocate with The Biggest Loser RunWalk Race Series (read her blog), and she is working on a new initiative called Detroit Gets Fit, a team and individual weight loss challenge that will run from January through April of 2016.
"I strongly feel that Detroit is taking steps forward by rebuilding the city and its economy, so now it’s time for us to start taking steps towards creating a healthier community," she said.
In addition, Wilamowski is the President of Grosse Pointe Farms-based Woodward Entertainment Group, an established production company which manages among other groups The Motor City Kitties dance group, Woodward Avenue Dancers, and Detroit Pride Cheerleaders, who are involved with the Detroit Lions.
“As a native of Michigan, I wanted to be part of bringing pride back to Detroit and to give others an opportunity to stay and work in the city/state,” she said. “Detroit Young Professionals is a great organization bringing like-minded people together and creating opportunity for positive change within the city. I believe that everyone benefits from the opportunity to meet new people, network, and learn from each another. It creates positive change and lasting relationships!”
